About IHAT:

India Health Action Trust (IHAT) aims at improving public health initiatives by supporting programs nationally and globally through providing comprehensive technical assistance in program planning, management and monitoring. Pursuant to the Memorandum of Cooperation between the GoUP and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, IHAT set up a Technical Support Unit (TSU) in 2013 to provide techno-managerial support to the Government of Uttar Pradesh (GoUP) to improve utilization, coverage and quality of key reproductive, maternal, new-born, child health and nutrition (RMNCHN) interventions and services in the state. The TSU has been set up from the funding support of Bill & Melinda Gate Foundation (BMGF) through the University of Manitoba (UOM), Canada.

About Program:

The Uttar Pradesh Technical Support Unit (UPTSU) provides integrated Technical Assistance (TA) to the government of Uttar Pradesh (GoUP), which focuses on accelerating progress in reproductive, maternal, new-born and child health, and nutrition (RMNCHN). UPTSU works closely with the GoUP at the state, district and local levels to optimize RMNCHN programs and services. The technical assistance provided by UPTSU is integrated within the GoUP’s health system response for scale-up and sustainability. UPTSU focuses on interventions to improve outcomes in Family Planning, Maternal and New-born Health, and Nutrition, along with Routine Immunization, Digital Health, and other initiatives.

Job Summary :

The primary responsibility of this position would be to conduct different analyses using government data such as UPHMIS/HMIS/RCH/DVDMS/HRMS along with other health & nutrition programs coupled with the community and facility level survey data

Key Responsibilities:

Key Deliverables expected from the Job Role:

  • Support in preparing integrated data system so that different data sources can be linked for analysis
  • Undertake excellent and efficient quantitative data analysis to provide key programmatic inputs, strategic planning and midcourse correction
  • Provide assistance to establish and implement a program monitoring system by defining the framework and measurable indicators
  • Conduct regular statistical analysis using different survey data
  • Review monitoring and government data reports, and analyze them to identify the potential bottlenecks in project implementation and areas of Implementation Research
  • Coordinate with the different teams, define expectations, and provide technical support as needed
  • Collaboration and coordination with other partner agencies, government agencies, and implementing partners on program monitoring/government data issues
  • Support the use of information and communication technologies for projects as required.
  • Prepare and develop project dissemination reports, case studies, flyers etc as required.
  • Plan for regular opportunities to identify lessons learned and implications for the project’s next ste
  • Carry out other M&E-related tasks requested by the reporting officer.

Work Experience:

Essential experience:

  • About 2-3 years’ experience in the health sector, specifically monitoring and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated management of government data system, surveys and liaison with government
  • Candidates with PhD in demography/Statistics/public health/ health management are exempted from experience.

Preferred experience:

  • Demonstrated management of government data system, surveys and liaison with government

Education:

Required Qualification:

Masters/MPhil in demography/Statistics/public health/ health management/health Economics

Preferred Qualification:

PhD in demography/Statistics

Functional:

  • Proficient in STATA /R and Excel
