Counseling sessions as part of the reception unit upon receiving a child:
The counselor shall have a minimum of 2 counselling sessions with the child, once the child has been admitted in the reception unit of the CCI. More sessions shall be conducted, if needed.
The objective of these sessions shall be to
a) establish the relationship with child and build trust
b) Understand about the child, his circumstances background immediate needs
c) to make recommendations which will support in further decision making for the child, Further report these to the CWC and ensure the preparation of the Individual Care Plan.
Record of counseling sessions:
Following is the summary and key highlights of each counseling session should be documented in the child ‘s case file.
- Psychological counseling for child based on their work and family background.
- Have a detailed discussion with child, make a detailed child development report and profile of each child.
- Prepare and maintain detailed case studies of individual children. This should include each session details, problems faced by each child and progress made
- Prepare documentation and filing records of children required by the CWC and other government agencies.
- Prepare and submit monthly to Supervisor sharing information about the initial interaction with the child, information from family members, relatives, community, friends and miscellaneous information.
- Consultations with further steps to be taken for each child ,should be discussed regularly with the Officer-in-charge, Teachers, and Instructors of the respective staff.
- To ensure the protection and safety of the children in the Ashram.
- Make a monthly progress report as per the Project.
Maintenance of case file. – (1) The case file of each child shall be maintained in the Ashram containing the following information:
- Report of the person or agency who produced the child before the CWC;
- Report of the initial interaction with the child, information from family members, relatives, community, friends and miscellaneous information;
- Source of further information;
- Observation reports from staff members;
- Family counseling reports
- Group counseling reports
- Regular health status reports from care house reports, progress reports psychological counseling or any other mental health intervention, where applicable;
- Intelligence Quotient (I.Q) testing, aptitude testing, educational or vocational tests; (i) social history;
- Summary and analysis by case-worker and Officer-in-charge;
- Instruction regarding training programme and about special precautions to be taken;
- Individual care plan, follow-up plan as prescribed in Form XXI; J.J (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and Rule 2016
- Leave of absence or release under supervision; (q) final discharge;
- Follow-up reports; (s)annual photograph;
- Case history duly filled in prescribed Form XX; J.J (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and Rule 2016
- Follow-up report of post release cases as per direction of the competent authority if any; and remarks.
- All the case files maintained by the Counselor shall, as far as possible, be computerized and networked so that the data is centrally available to the Central Office.
