Role and expectations from the role – Help manage the organization websites, update website content, build additional the functionality of the website with the website partner, evaluate and manage website performance. The Website manager is expected to be meticulous with attention to detail, outstanding problem solving skills and very good content creation and writing skills with focus on constantly improving the User experience of the website. Needs to have a sound knowledge of web technology, navigation and user interface design, search engine optimisation.
Core responsibilities –
- Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading the organization’s website.
- Responding to and troubleshooting all website issues. Identifying and responding to all website security breaches.
- Conducting content audits to eliminate redundant and/or duplicate information.
- Creating appropriate website content aligned with the organization’s strategy.
- Improving the user experience of the website regularly.
- Collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure that the website aligns with brand strategy and meets the organization’s standards.
- Creating strategies to grow subscriber base and web traffic metrics
- Search engine optimisation to ensure Google Page 1 rank for key words
Experience
· A degree in computer science, IT, systems engineering, or related qualification.
· 8-10 years of work experience as a website manager.
· Expert knowledge of Macromedia suite, Adobe suite, Content Management Systems, and W3C Web standards.
· Highly proficient in HTML, XHTML, CSS design, cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility, firewalls (functionality and maintenance), Access, mySQL and JavaScript.
· Good understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Paid Per Click (PPC)
