Position Summary
Reporting to: Director, Development
Directly Managing: Development team of 3 Associates in South and an Operations team of 1 Manager and 1-2 Associates
The Regional Lead (South) will build partnerships for three Teach For India cities – Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Chennai for sustainable funding and regional movement building, as well as lead the operations vertical in the Development team.
Team Overview
As a Regional Lead for South, you will
- Raise funds for southern regions by acquiring new donors and deepening existing partnerships through superior engagement, donor delight, and branding opportunities.
- Leverage regional advisory board to unlock new funding and cultivating local champions.
- Work closely with the City Directors and the Director, Development in these areas -Building and executing a comprehensive and adaptive strategy for the current and successive year. This will include goal-setting & strategic planning, reviewing progress to goals, and strong execution.
- Supporting partnership and movement building efforts in the region to advance development goals.
- Execute a best-in-class learning loop by sharing best practices, synthesizing learnings from the donor portfolio and regional work, and cross-collaboration projects.
As an Operations Lead
- Ensure quality control in all development-related systems and processes by acting as an advisor and an auditor. Key focus areas include – Finance and Regulatory compliance, Salesforce, Audit/Third-party assessments, and Knowledge Management system.
- Liaise with key verticals – Finance, Technology, Strategy and Learning, Communications, Training and Impact, and Cities to streamline and enable development requirements.Overseeing Teach For India’s financial management, regulatory and legal needs
- Maintaining up-to-date and accurate data on donors in our online CRM system (Salesforce) and driving rigorous usage across regions for renewal/upgrade projections and data-driven insights.
- Ensuring adherence to MOU commitments, governance structures and policies like Child Protection Policy, field-trip policies, and educating the team and donors for compliance.
- Structure and project manage various processes to solve for the challenges faced by the team and surface insights and advise the Director on short-term decisions as well as long-term bets in compliance and financial sustainability.
Preferred Qualifications, Experiences and Expectations
- Graduate/Postgraduate in any field
- 5-8+ years of relevant work experience in client-facing roles. Previous experience working in the development/education sector or sectoral exposure to corporates/foundations/worked with HNIs with fundraising experiences (preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication (Demonstrated excellent written communication by way of proposal or grant writing)
- Highly developed interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Strong project management skills (Experience in managing multiple complex projects)
- Experience of having worked with CXOs/Senior Management stakeholders (preferred)
- Working knowledge of management and CRM programs, including Salesforce, NetSuite, etc. (preferred)
