In India, Jhpiego works across various states in close collaboration with national and state governments, providing technical assistance in the areas of family planning, maternal and child health, strengthening human resources for health, and non-communicable diseases. These programs are funded by USAID, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, David & Lucile Packard Foundation, Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), MSD for Mothers and other anonymous donors.
Jhpiego is hiring for the position of Manager-Partnerships and Private Sector Engagement based at New Delhi for its USAID funded NISHTHA project for strengthening of comprehensive primary healthcare across 12 states.
The position will provide managerial expertise to monitor, supervise, manage partnerships, subawards with NGOs, technology and other strategic partner agencies engaged under NISHTHA project to respond to project/program needs. The incumbent will also help in identifying and forging partnerships of strategic importance for mobilizing additional resources or expertise for strengthening primary healthcare in intervention states. The position reports to Chief of Party- NISHTHA, Jhpiego at New Delhi.
Responsibilities
- Landscape the players working in digital technology, data analytics, telemedicine, private sector, research, innovative start-ups having products or services relevant to Jhpiego/NISHTHA.
- Explore, initiate, facilitate partnerships with various players in private sector, technical, digital technology field, research field, data analytics and innovative start-ups, to strengthen response to emerging needs under CPHC space.
- Mobilize resources from private sector, philanthropists, corporate donors for supporting states in the response to CPHC or any other related emerging project need(s).
- Act as one-point contact to monitor, manage the partnerships and subawards with NGOs, technical, technology agencies engaged under NISHTHA project
- Work with agencies on work plan development within timelines as per the agreed deliverables terms and conditions.
- Evaluate the work plan in collaboration with other departments/components under NISHTHA project and provide necessary feedback.
- Develop and implement the monitoring mechanisms for partners/subawards/subgrants.
- To provide the feedback, necessary inputs in collaboration with other NISHTHA departments/components/thematic areas to ensure that the partner subawards are working as per project
- Ensure that the partner subawards comply with all program requirements, share periodic update reports, documentation as per the organization and donor mandate
- Ensure that the subawards are working in alignment with project requirements and report deviations, if any.
- Organize periodic monitoring/supervision visits from NISHTHA through various mediums to ensure that the project complies with the donor/Jhpiego/HQ requirements.
- To support in documentation of best practices, lessons learnt, innovations from the models implemented to overall NISHTHA knowledge management and documentation team.
- Liaison between the partner subawards and state government in collaboration with NISHTHA state teams.
Required Qualifications
- MBA from a premier institute or any basic graduation with an essential MPH/ DPH/ Post
- Graduate Diploma in health management with prior experience of working in development sector
- Around 7-10 years of prior experience of working with multi-stakeholder projects, mobilizing private sector, managing NGOs, private sector partners, Government stakeholders, etc.
- Demonstrated experience of forging and managing partnerships and previous work experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the Indian public health system, newer initiatives in health sector and relevant government policies/ strategies particularly National Health Mission, Ayushman Bharat and the
- National Digital Health Mission.
