Position: Program Associate– Swavalambane- Karnataka Rural Women Scale-Up Program

Who we are
NSRCEL is the start-up incubator of IIM Bangalore. Over 585+ ventures have gone through the Incubation Programme and another 1300+ ventures have taken our Launchpad Program. NSRCEL is deeply committed to mobilising the entrepreneurship ecosystem in the country to foster innovation and economic growth.
NSRCEL is also supported by Niti Aayog, Department of Science and Technology and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
Additionally, NSRCEL has partners with corporates like Goldman Sachs, ICICI Securities, Maruti Suzuki, Capgemini and Kotak Mahindra Bank among others to support entrepreneurs in focussed sectors like mobility, fintech, and social entrepreneurship.
What will you be doing?
- Plan and execute activities to build capability of rural women entrepreneurs across Karnataka to enable them to grow their businesses in an accelerated manner.
- Support the team, inter-disciplinary teams and the partner organization associates to ensure high quality time implementation of the plans with minimum mistakes, deviations, and lags under strict guidelines and timelines.
- Be proactive in taking initiative to complete tasks and take up roles / activities towards the successful implementation of the program.
- Work with team members to assess the needs, risks, strengths and weaknesses of the ventures and the entrepreneurs and build individual profiles and business development plans.
- Discuss with the women entrepreneurs to understand their challenges and business potential and support in developing the capacity building mechanisms accordingly with clear defined goals.
- Support the team in monitoring, reviewing the progress of the participating women entrepreneurs and visit them periodically on-site to understand their challenges and work with them.
- Ensure that the program runs smoothly, thereby, planning and executing a variety of tasks (including program planning, operations, budget management, marketing & outreach, communication, need assessment, capacity building sessions, workshops & mentorships, technology involvement, vendor selection and other activities as required).
- Involve community-led processes and liaise, build and maintain ecosystem stakeholder collaborations (including government, academic institutions, non-profit organizations and others).
- Gather relevant information in regular interval that can be used to develop the reports and success stories for both internal and external reporting.
- Travel to the enterprises regularly, facilitate & ensure that the project benefits are availed by the enterprises, handhold them in their business growth.
- Closely work with strategic & implementation partners and support them in executing the agreed activities.
- Identify and leverage multiple and alternate funding sources and provide them with market access, funding access and backward & forward integration opportunities.
- Support in creating processes, document best practices and success stories, monitor impact metrics and growth, generate reports to improve the program further.
- Bring newer concepts, ideas and knowledge to the table to develop a better program design / architecture and plans for the target beneficiaries.
Requirements
What will you need to bring to the table?
- Have an experiment-led, learning mindset, ready to explore to build goal oriented project
- Collaborative self-starter with the ability to make connections quickly, build trust and work as a team player and constantly adapt to the changing scenarios
- Ability to flex continuously between the strategic and tactical or conceptualising and execution
- Strong verbal and written communications skills, with fluency in Kannada, English, Hindi.
- Ability to interact with Uttar Kannada, Marathi or Telegu people in Karnataka is an added advantage.
- Ability to prepare reports, PPTs etc in Kannada language, skills in translation from English to Kannada or visa-versa is an added advantage.
This role is for you, if you:
- Have a Graduate degree in Social Work/Business Management/Economics/Rural Development or aligned subjects from a reputed institution with overall experience of 3-5 years in the relevant field
- Have worked with women in rural setting in likes of SHGs, livelihood, women empowerment, Government or non-profit organizations, or social sector
- Have on-site / field experience across districts of Karnataka and with Government agencies
- Think like an integrated professional with customer-first mindset: you have a knack for spotting opportunities and anticipating operational issues.
- Thrive amid complexity in a continuously evolving environment with uncertainties
- Have a positive attitude, a detail orientation and maturity to interact with the senior leadership
- Willing to travel extensively in remote parts of Karnataka, mandatory
