Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance to government counterparts in assigned state for integration of mental health in primary healthcare settings in the selected district.
- Support the national team in the development and contextual adaptations and addressing challenges of implementation in the assigned state.
- Provide mentoring and handholding support to the field team for implementing the project activities.
- Lead the planning and implementation of the program, supervise and support the program team in the district of the assigned state.
- Facilitate, coordinate, and conduct training and capacity building activities for relevant stakeholders, mainly primary health care functionaries.
- Undertake extensive field travel (up to 60% of the time) within the assigned state to provide on-site support, monitoring and supervision for integrating mental health in primary care.
- Undertake supportive supervision visits to Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) in the assigned district of the state and share feedback for planning corrective actions.
- Liaises and manages stakeholders at the state and district level involved in project activities.
- Support in documentation of learnings, results, successes, challenges and dissemination.
- Represent PATH for mental health at all forums in the state throughout the program.
- Undertake other tasks which may be assigned from time to time by program leadership.
Required Experience and qualifications
- Advanced degree in clinical psychology /psychiatry /public health /health adminsitration and related fields with 6-8 years experience and demonstrated skills in development and implementation of mental health programs in primary care settings.
- Prior experience of working in similar roles, primary healthcare is desirable.
- Technical knowledge and field experience of planning and implementation of mental health programs will be an added advantage
- Experience with NGOs in the health sector and/ or Ministries of Health is preferable.
- Familiarity with Indian public health system, flagship initiatives in health sector and relevant
- government policies/ strategies particularly NHM, Ayushman Arogya Mandir, etc.
Skills/ Abilities
- Self-starter and committed to performing their duties with a high degree of autonomy and independence in line with project goals and objectives.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English, Hindi and regional language of the designated geography
- Demonstrated ability to deliver public health programs on ground.
- Ability and proficiency to write technical documents, program reports, training reports, etc.
- Experience of conducting trainings and developing training materials.
- Direct experience of independently liaising with government health functionaries, district level administrators and other development partners.
- Ability to manage field team to deliver project outcomes.
- Strong coordination and facilitation skills
- Demonstrated ability to mutli-task and perform under tight timelines.
- Computer proficiency with high level of familiarity with commonly used packages like MS Word,
- Excel, Power Point, Outlook & Web surfing to search relevant data & documents
- Ability to travel at least 50% of time.
