**Job Overview**

 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager to lead our Skill Development and Capacity Building Projects.  The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of projects aimed at enhancing skills and building capacity across various sectors.  This role demands a strong foundation in project management, a passion for education and skill development, and exceptional leadership skills.

 

**Responsibilities**

 

* **Project Management:**

    * Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of skill development and capacity building projects from inception to completion.

    * Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet required quality standards.

* **Team Management:**

    * Supervise and manage project staff, including trainers, coordinators, and administrative personnel.

    * Provide leadership, guidance, and support to ensure project team members perform effectively and achieve project goals.

* **Stakeholder Engagement:**

    * Establish partnerships with stakeholders, including government agencies, educational institutions, industry partners, and community organizations.

    * Collaborate with stakeholders to identify training needs, develop training programs, and align them with project objectives.

* **Curriculum Development:**

    * Work closely with subject matter experts to design, develop, and update training curricula and learning materials.

    * Ensure training programs are relevant, engaging, and aligned with industry standards and best practices.

* **Monitoring & Evaluation:**

    * Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the effectiveness and impact of training programs.

    * Collect and analyze data to measure outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and inform evidence-based decision-making.

* **Financial Management:**

    * Prepare project budgets and monitor expenditures to ensure efficient resource utilization and adherence to donor requirements.

    * Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation to maximize project resources.

* **Reporting:**

    * Prepare regular progress reports, financial reports, and other documentation as required by project stakeholders and donors.

    * Effectively communicate project updates, achievements, and challenges to internal and external audiences.

* **Risk Management:**

    * Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

* **Reporting & Coordination:**

    * Report to Senior Manager/Assistant Programme Director at DA HQ.

    * Coordinate with the Corporate Communication and Knowledge Management unit for outcome and impact data collection, collation, and analysis.

    * Coordinate all administrative issues with respective departments.

 

**Qualifications & Experience**

 

* Master’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Development Studies, or a related field.

* 5-7 years of experience working on capacity building, skills for livelihood, research, stakeholder management, liaisoning, road safety and signs, health and WASH projects in an NGO with grassroots operations.

* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and lead cross-functional teams.

* Strong personal and professional integrity.

* Skills in proposal writing, knowledge of data management, and tools for developing project communication materials.

* Strong professional communication skills – both verbal and written.

* Willingness to travel for field work (may include smaller towns, villages in rural and peri-urban areas for community interactions).
