## Senior Specialist – Tuberculosis & Infectious Disease

 

**About India Health Action Trust (IHAT):**

 

India Health Action Trust (IHAT) is a Charitable Trust established in 2003 with a vision to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable and marginalized communities by tackling health and social inequities. IHAT focuses on developing comprehensive and sustainable programs to improve population health, working closely with the Government of India and state governments. 

 

Our mission is to reduce inequities through programs focused on preventing and controlling HIV and Tuberculosis, enhancing Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal and Child Health, improving Nutrition among mothers and children, and strengthening health systems. We leverage program science to optimize and scale public health programs while collaborating with governments and communities.

 

**Job Location:** Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India

 

**Experience Required:**

 

* Minimum 7+ years of relevant experience in infectious diseases including TB.

* Experience working with government data systems such as HMIS/MCTS, RCH, etc.

 

**Education:**

 

* Master’s degree in Public Health/Preventive & Social medicine or any other related field.

 

**Key Responsibilities:**

 

* Promote the use of Standards of TB Care in India (STCI) within the state and assist in developing additional tools and enablers for effective involvement of all care providers and stakeholders in the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP).

* Develop training modules and programs for TB rollout training.

* Design, implement, and evaluate pathways to optimize TB diagnosis and treatment adherence.

* Develop protocols for implementation or operations research with other team members.

* Assist the State in developing, piloting, and scaling up operational models of Public Private Partnership in NTEP.

* Coordinate with Medical Colleges, NGOs, Private Practitioners, professional medical associations, corporate sector care providers, and public sector care providers outside the Health Department for training, continuing medical education, and mentoring.

* Provide technical assistance (TA) to the State for timely and complete reporting from various public-private partnership projects. Facilitate the compilation and analysis of relevant reports at the State level.

* Provide TA to the State for monitoring and evaluation of public-private collaborative activities under NTEP in the State.

* Undertake other activities as assigned by the State in the interest of NTEP/TB Elimination in the State.

 

**Key Competencies:**

 

**Conceptual and Analytical Skills:**

 

* Excellent technical knowledge in Infectious Disease, including TB.

* Familiar with the organization and functions of the state and local public health systems.

* Ability to work independently on complex projects and proactively manage projects with minimal supervision.

* Experience in strengthening the programmatic capacity of an organization, particularly in infectious disease.

* Experience in developing innovative proposals is a plus.

 

**Leadership and Management:**

 

* Demonstrated leadership and managerial experience, preferably in a government setting.

* Experience building relationships and working with multi-disciplinary state and division-level teams, Government officials, and external partners.

 

**Communication Skills:**

 

* Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong presentation, persuasive ability, and report writing.

* Ability to deliver complex messages to various audiences.

* Proven ability to conceptualize, analyze, innovate, plan, and execute ideas.

 

 

**Reporting to:** State Head – Madhya Pradesh

 

**Travel Requirements:** 40% travel is expected.
