**Job Description:**
Room to Read is seeking an experienced and qualified internal auditor to join our team in New Delhi. As a Manager, Internal Audit, you will play a pivotal role in providing assurance and advisory services, ensuring the integrity of our operations, identifying areas for improvement in systems and processes, enhancing governance, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements across Room to Read entities and partner NGOs.
**Responsibilities:**
* **Internal Audit Planning and Execution (43% of the time):** Develop and execute internal audit plans, including fieldwork, reporting, and follow-up. Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends and insights for sample selection. Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls. Identify and investigate potentially fraudulent activities.
* **Reporting and Follow-ups (20% of the time):** Prepare comprehensive audit reports and track the implementation of management action plans. Leverage audit software to develop periodic reports on audit activities and management action plan status.
* **Continuous System-Based Auditing (25% of the time):** Gain in-depth understanding of the compliance monitoring system and processes. Conduct continuous audits and develop quarterly reports using compliance monitoring software.
* **Team Leadership and Development (5% of the time):** Supervise and mentor auditors, pursue professional development opportunities, and share information with colleagues. Represent the Internal Audit Team in the absence of the Supervisor.
* **Stakeholder Engagement (5% of the time):** Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to understand their operations and control environments. Build strong relationships with management teams, process owners, and external auditors.

**Qualifications:**
* **Required:**
* Professional certification such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or CA (Chartered Accountant)
* 7-10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in internal auditing
* Strong understanding of internal audit and accounting standards and reporting requirements
* Proficiency in using audit software
* Proficiency in data analysis, data visualization, and storytelling
* Experience in executing audit plans and evaluating internal control systems
* Proficiency in preparing clear, concise, and timely audit reports
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team
* Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
* Skill in planning and project management, and in maintaining composure under pressure
* Ability and willingness to travel frequently
* Ability to adapt to changing regulatory environments and industry practices
* Strong appreciation of cultural sensitivity and diversity
* **Preferred:**
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Advanced degree or certification in accounting, finance, IT audits, risk management, or a related field
* Knowledge of ERP systems and experience with data analytics
* Working knowledge of financial analytics techniques
* Experience working or volunteering in a non-profit organization
