## Program Manager – E-Freight

Through applied research, practical tools, hands-on guidance, and a global network of experts, we accelerate transformative urban initiatives.  Our goal is to help transform Indian cities into thriving, equitable, and low-carbon places that benefit both people and the planet.

 

**About the Role:**

 

WRI India seeks a Program Manager to support our efforts in decarbonizing freight within the Sustainable Cities and Transport Program. The project aims to develop a zero-emission tractor transition plan for Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, with the ultimate goal of creating a transition framework for tractors used in agriculture.

 

**Responsibilities:**

 

* Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with relevant stakeholders, including:

    * Government officials in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar (transport, agriculture, and environmental departments)

    * Senior policy makers in major agricultural districts

    * E-tractor OEMs

    * Farmer associations

    * Agriculture experts

* Engage in consultations with officials from UP and Bihar governments, industry stakeholders, OEMs, and other relevant parties.

* Develop strategies for outreach, goal achievement, and monitoring progress for e-tractor adoption.

* Oversee the preparation of various collateral materials, such as reports and slide decks.

* Oversee the planning and management of project-related events, including stakeholder convenings, webinars, and exhibitions.

* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and budget constraints.

* Participate in external workshops, discussions, and events to showcase thought leadership and enhance organizational visibility.

* Generate literature pieces to foster ecosystem engagement and support internal team knowledge building.

 

**Qualifications and Requirements:**

 

* Business degree or equivalent master’s degree in Agricultural engineering with 7-10 years of techno-commercial experience in Tractors and Farm machinery organizations.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Experience in stakeholder engagement and industry interactions.

* Experience in or knowledge of freight transport (medium and heavy-duty vehicles), urban supply chain, logistics policy, and capacity building.

* Familiarity with electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, or related technologies is advantageous.

* Demonstrated experience working with government, private sector, civic groups, and academic and research organizations.

* Fluency in English and Hindi is mandatory. Fluency in other regional languages is a plus.

* Strong writing and presentation skills. Quantitative and qualitative research capabilities are essential.

* Ability to work independently and contribute to team learning.

* Proficiency in MS Office suite. Experience with spatial mapping, statistical programming languages, and data visualization tools is beneficial.

**Duration:**

 

1 year (extendable based on performance and project requirements)

 

**Salary and Benefits:**

 

INR 15,00,000 to INR 18,00,000 CTC. Salary will be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a comprehensive and generous benefits package.
