## Project Officer– Ecological Restoration (Darjeeling Field Office)

We work in diverse landscapes across India, addressing critical conservation challenges through science-based conservation, advocacy, and community engagement.
**Job Location:** Darjeeling, West Bengal, India
**Experience Required:**
* Minimum 2 years of proven experience in ecological restoration projects, preferably in the Himalayan region.
* Experience in working with local communities on conservation initiatives is essential.
**Responsibilities:**
* Develop and implement ecological restoration plans for degraded landscapes in the Darjeeling district.
* Conduct site assessments, ecological surveys, and monitoring activities to evaluate restoration progress.
* Engage with local communities in project planning, implementation, and monitoring.
* Develop and manage partnerships with local organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
* Prepare project reports and documentation.
* Contribute to the development of WWF-India’s ecological restoration program.
**Qualifications:**
* Master’s degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Forestry, or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of ecological restoration principles and practices.
* Experience in working with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
