**Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (India)** is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of rural communities in India. We work in partnership with local communities to promote sustainable development through a variety of programs in the areas of agriculture, rural governance, and work and enterprise.

 

**Job Location:** Santalpur Block, Patan District and Vav Block – Banaskantha District, Gujarat, India

 

**Experience Required:** 1-2 years of experience in relevant field. Freshers are also encouraged to apply.

 

**Job Description:**

 

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated **Development Organizer (Agriculture)** to join our team in Gujarat. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of rural issues, experience in community mobilization, and a commitment to improving the livelihoods of farmers.

 

**Responsibilities:**

 

* Community mobilization, institution development, and participatory planning with stakeholders.

* Capacity building of Self Help Groups (SHGs), community members, volunteers, and institutions.

* Understanding community needs and core issues of rural development in the context of livelihood activities.

* Identifying potential markets and developing a plan for agricultural production for beneficiaries.

* Following up and managing databases for ongoing activities such as goat rearing, vermicompost, group irrigation systems, green net house nurseries, regenerative agriculture, conservation agriculture, kitchen gardens, and landless gardens.

* Imparting training on ongoing activities and disseminating information about new agricultural technologies and methodologies among farmers.

* Establishing relationships with Agricultural Universities and related bodies like KVK, NABARD, and Banks.

* Ensuring documentation related to the program in the respective area.

* Supporting the strengthening of process documentation and monitoring systems.

* Participating in other livelihood activities.

 

**Skills & Competencies:**

 

* Good understanding of rural issues.

* Ability to work in a multi-stakeholder environment with attention to detail.

* Experience in community mobilization aspects.

* Working experience in livelihood-based projects focusing on farmer income.

* Proficiency in computer operations.

 

**Qualifications:**

 

* B.Sc. Agriculture, MBA-Rural Management/Development, Agribusiness, or allied technical qualifications.
