## Program Associate – Electric Mobility, Just Transition

**About the Role**
The Electric Mobility team at WRI India supports Indian cities in their transition to low-carbon transportation systems. We achieve this through applied research, tools, hands-on advice, and by tapping into our network of Indian and International experts.
We are seeking a motivated Program Associate to provide support on research, analysis, and stakeholder engagement for a project focused on enabling an equitable and inclusive electric vehicle (EV) transition for Maharashtra’s automotive manufacturing industry.
**Responsibilities:**
* Assist the Project Manager in conducting primary and secondary research on the ongoing transition from internal combustion engine vehicles (ICEV) to EVs in the Indian automotive sector, with a specific focus on Maharashtra.
* Engage with a diverse range of stakeholders in Maharashtra, including automotive industry stakeholders, industry associations, skilling agencies, and local & state government representatives. This engagement will involve communicating about ongoing initiatives, collecting primary data, seeking collaborations, and undertaking joint initiatives.
* Organize, review, and summarize relevant literature and data from multiple sources under the guidance of the Project lead and team.
* Synthesize recommendations into clear and compelling presentations and written reports.
* Produce project-related presentations, commentaries, blogs and op-eds, reports, policy briefs, grant proposals, working papers, and articles to disseminate research and analysis, both independently and in collaboration with team members.
* Present insights/findings on behalf of WRI India at relevant multi-stakeholder forums.
* Conceptualize and conduct related events and capacity building activities required for the project, in collaboration with the team and Project lead.
* Design and create innovative problem-solving approaches to effectively address key questions and challenges posed by our research goals and program objectives.
* Contribute and engage with WRI’s research community in India and globally.
**Qualifications and Requirements:**
* **Education:** A Master’s or higher degree in sustainable transportation, public policy, climate policy, urban or transport planning, environmental studies, or related fields.
* **Experience:** 2-4 years of work experience in sustainable development research, with preferably some experience in liaising with government and industry stakeholders.
* **Skills:**
* Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
* Strong communication skills and language proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking skills) in English, Hindi, and Marathi.
* Good working knowledge of the sustainable mobility domain, electric vehicle segment, automotive sector, and energy transition.
* Excellent research, analytical writing, and presentation skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* **Bonus:** Prior experience in sustainable mobility and/or in Maharashtra’s automotive sector.
**Location:** Pune, India
**Duration:** 1 year
**Salary and Benefits:** 8,00,000 INR to 9,00,000 INR CTC Per annum. Salary will be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.
