Our work focuses on the intersection of climate change, biodiversity habitat conservation, and informal livelihoods. With a team of 200+ employees across Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, we develop effective waste management solutions for urban and rural areas, particularly in eco-sensitive and tourist zones. We are launching a large-scale responsible tourism initiative to encourage environmentally conscious travel practices.
**Job Description:**
This role is crucial to our new responsible tourism initiative, piloting in Dharamshala. You will engage directly and indirectly with tourists using various communication tools (WhatsApp chatbots, QR codes, bulk messaging, etc.) to promote pro-environmental actions.
**Responsibilities:**
* Direct and indirect engagement with tourists via technology.
* Creation of engaging content and designs to encourage climate action.
* A/B testing of designs and user flows on WhatsApp chatbots.
* Content sourcing for social media, brochures, and reports.
* Production of short, engaging videos.
* Design of awareness/promotional materials using Adobe, Canva, or Google Slides.
* Creative showcasing of tourists on social media.
* Content publication on travel/tourism industry platforms.
**Qualifications and Experience:**
* Bachelor’s degree or professional diploma (Humanities, Social Sciences, Media Studies, Mass Communication, Journalism, Film).
* 1+ years of experience in a relevant field; willingness to work on-site.
* Excellent English editing, proofreading, and paraphrasing skills.
* Strong interest in the social sector.
* Fluency in English and Hindi (translation skills essential).
* Intermediate knowledge of design software (Adobe, Canva, Coral) and video editing.
* Intermediate proficiency in Google Drive and Apps (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
* Intermediate experience using social media platforms effectively.
* Basic knowledge of waste management (willingness to learn more).
* Experience in the tourism industry is preferred.
