**About the India Safe Water Team:**
Evidence Action, through EAII Advisors, is launching a significant technical assistance program to help the Indian government provide safe water access to 17.5 million people. This initiative complements the government’s “Jal Jeevan Mission” and leverages Evidence Action’s successful Safe Water Now program, which has already provided clean water to over 10 million people in East Africa.
**Job Summary:**
The Manager, Safe Water Operations will play a crucial role in overseeing the effective implementation of the Safe Water program across multiple Indian states. This involves strategic planning, operational excellence, and scaling the program while adhering to the highest quality standards. The role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including government bodies and partners.
**Responsibilities:**
* Lead strategic planning and execution of the safe water program.
* Drive process improvement and implementation across multiple states.
* Oversee program performance monitoring and ensure quality standards are met.
* Manage and coordinate state teams for effective deployment and maintenance of water treatment devices.
* Oversee procurement, supply chain management, and vendor relations.
* Lead program scaling while maintaining quality and process adherence.
* Regularly report program progress, risks, and recommendations to the Senior Manager.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to create reports and presentations.
* Conduct field visits to support program teams and monitor implementation.
* Collaborate with government bodies and external partners.
* Develop training materials and communication strategies for state-level teams.
* Manage resources, budgets, and evaluate productivity.
* Participate in organizational and external events.
**Requirements:**
**Essential Qualifications:**
* Graduate degree in Engineering or a Master’s degree in Management/Engineering (or relevant advanced certification).
* 5+ years of experience in operations within fast-paced startups.
* Proven experience in process improvement and large-scale program management.
* Strong knowledge of strategic planning and cross-functional team management.
* Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex projects, including vendor and supply chain management.
* Strong monitoring, evaluation, and process tracking skills.
* Proven ability to work effectively with external partners.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills (fluent in English).
* Ability to manage competing priorities and solve problems effectively.
* Willingness to travel up to 50% (including occasional weekends).
* Experience scaling solutions in resource-limited environments.
**Desirable Qualifications:**
* Experience providing advisory services to government bodies in development, WASH, or related sectors.
* Familiarity with government programs like the Jal Jeevan Mission.
