**Job Description:**

 

The Community Resource Person (CRP) will play a crucial role in implementing and promoting the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) by actively engaging with community members to foster sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices.  As a local ambassador for the project, the CRP will work closely with villagers, panchayat members, and other stakeholders to ensure effective delivery and community ownership of JJM initiatives.

 

**Key Responsibilities:**

 

* **Community Mobilization and Awareness:** Conduct household outreach, organize awareness campaigns, and promote behavior change related to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene.

* **Village Action Plan Support:** Assist in preparing village-level water action plans, facilitate Gram Sabha meetings, and advocate for WASH-related decisions.

* **Maintenance and Infrastructure Support:** Monitor water sources and infrastructure, report issues to authorities, and encourage community participation in maintenance efforts.

* **Formation and Strengthening of Committees:** Facilitate the formation of Village Water and Sanitation Committees (VWSC) and provide capacity building support.

* **Capacity Building and Training:** Organize workshops and training sessions on water quality testing, sanitation, and hygiene promotion, engaging women and youth.

* **Record Keeping and Reporting:** Collect data, maintain accurate records, and submit reports to the project team.  Act as a liaison between the community and project team.

 

 

**Desired Skills and Qualifications:**

 

* Minimum high school diploma; additional qualifications in community development or WASH-related fields preferred.

* Prior experience in community engagement or fieldwork in rural development, health, or WASH sectors is advantageous.

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

* Familiarity with local languages, culture, and social structures.

* Passion for improving community health, water access, and sanitation practices.
