**Job Description:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer with a strong focus on security to join our team.  The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of designing, developing, and deploying secure and scalable software solutions.  This role will involve working on critical security systems, identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities, and contributing to the overall security posture of Cloudflare’s infrastructure.

**Responsibilities:**

* Design, develop, and maintain secure and efficient software components.

* Identify and address security vulnerabilities in existing systems.

* Participate in code reviews and security audits.

* Collaborate with other engineers and security professionals to improve security practices.

* Contribute to the development of security tools and processes.

* Stay up-to-date on the latest security threats and vulnerabilities.

**Experience Required:**

* 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on security.

* Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., C++, Java, Python, Go).

* Experience with security best practices and methodologies (e.g., OWASP, SANS).

* Experience with security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, intrusion detection systems, vulnerability scanners).

* Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

* Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

* Strong communication and collaboration skills.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

* Experience with network security protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS).

* Experience with security frameworks (e.g., Spring Security, .NET Security).

* Experience with penetration testing and security assessments.

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.  (Master’s degree preferred)
