**About the RMEAL Team:**

 

CSF’s RMEAL team conducts research and monitoring & evaluation activities to identify effective strategies for improving school education and student learning outcomes, particularly for children from vulnerable backgrounds. The team provides technical support to other CSF verticals and oversees third-party research studies.  The team is advised by leading experts in the field of education research and evaluation.

 

**Position Summary:**

 

The Senior Project Manager will be a key contributor to the RMEAL team, supporting colleagues and senior members in operationalizing the team’s strategy.  The role will focus primarily on the Edtech and School Governance portfolios, with some involvement in Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) work.

 

**Roles & Responsibilities:**

 

* Design and implement research projects using quantitative, qualitative, process, and action research methodologies.

* Develop monitoring frameworks and tools for use by CSF, partner organizations, and government bodies.

* Conduct rigorous evaluations to assess the impact of programs on student learning and other relevant outcomes. This includes developing Theories of Change, creating data collection tools, managing data collection processes, and conducting mixed-methods data analysis.

* Perform quantitative and qualitative data analysis, secondary research, synthesize findings, and prepare reports.

* Independently manage all aspects of assigned projects with minimal supervision.

 

**Skills and Qualifications:**

 

* Bachelor’s degree in economics, public/education policy, or a related field with coursework in quantitative research methods. A Master’s degree is preferred.

* 4-6 years of experience in M&E/public policy research and analysis within an impact development consulting firm, think tank, or implementing agency.

* Strong technical skills in quantitative research methods and data analysis, including social science statistics/econometrics.

* Proficiency in Stata or R.  Competency with Microsoft and Google Suite (Excel/PowerPoint, Sheets/Slides).

* Ability to interpret complex research/data and draw actionable conclusions.

* Understanding of experimental and quasi-experimental research designs (RCTs, Difference-in-Differences).

* Excellent project management and interpersonal skills; ability to manage multiple projects and influence stakeholders.

* Willingness to learn new methodologies and work independently and proactively.

* Prior experience in Indian education policy-making and related studies is advantageous.

 

**Desired Qualities:**

 

* Expertise in experimental and quasi-experimental research designs.

* Experience with qualitative methodologies (thematic coding) and educational assessments (psychometrics/Item Response Theory).

* Familiarity with data collection software (SurveyCTO, Tangerine) and qualitative software (NVivo, Dedoose).

* Strong action orientation, influencing, and communication skills.

* Passion for improving education and a belief in foundational learning for all children.

* Adaptability and willingness to travel to project locations.
