**Job Title:** Officer, Instructional Design and Technical Support (IDTS)

**Position Overview:**
This role leads and contributes to the core instructional design of Foundational Literacy programs at Room to Read. Based in the New Delhi Country Office, the Officer, IDTS will report to the Manager of IDTS and will require frequent travel to field offices. The position involves regular interaction with education officials, partners, school administrators, teachers, and students. The IDTS team enhances program implementation by improving the adoption of structured pedagogy resources, teacher and team professional development, and evidence-informed assessment in instruction. The team is responsible for rigorous content creation informed by academic research and field experience, providing technical support to internal and external stakeholders.
**Roles and Responsibilities:**
* **Program Design & Development:** Develop learning frameworks, operational guidance notes, toolkits, training plans, training content, manuals, and participant handbooks for online and offline training programs. Define school support and monitoring areas for program staff. Develop/refine facilitator guides for professional development. Create materials for custom projects aligned with state and project requirements.
* **Technical Support & Capacity Building:** Provide technical support to program staff and field monitoring staff. Contribute to capacity-building plans and resources for internal and external stakeholders, conducting both online and offline training. Contribute to pedagogical approaches and material creation/co-creation.
* **Research & Analysis:** Apply current national/international research to upgrade instructional design. Identify topics for action research. Review and revise program designs, materials, and training content based on research findings.
* **Communication & Collaboration:** Communicate regularly with various internal teams. Participate in social media campaigns. Engage in discussions with state teams regarding future opportunities. Coordinate with consultants to ensure quality content.
* **Field Engagement & Implementation:** Visit state programs to provide feedback. Explore and ideate new content, including edtech resources. Facilitate translation of training materials into local languages. Negotiate plans for sustaining program interventions.
* **Reporting & Documentation:** Contribute to reports, budget reviews, forecasts, and documentation of best practices. Track progress toward agreed outcomes.
* **Other Duties:** Undertake other assigned tasks to meet organizational needs.
**Qualifications:**
* Required: Graduate degree in education/social sciences or equivalent. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Prior experience in Early Grade Literacy and teaching foundational/early years. Awareness of language and reading practices. Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Hindi. Excellent project execution skills.
* Preferred: Master’s degree in education/social sciences.
