**Job Overview:**

 

The Fundraising Manager will play a vital role in helping Room to Read achieve its annual fundraising goal of US$63 million. Based in Mumbai, and reporting to the Senior Development Director, Corporation and Foundations, this position offers significant personal and professional growth opportunities within the Global Development and Communications team.  The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of individual, corporate, and foundation donors, building relationships, securing funding, and implementing effective stewardship strategies.

 

**Key Responsibilities:**

 

* **Fundraising (90%):** Manage and grow a portfolio generating USD 1.5 million annually from corporations, foundations, and select individuals. Develop and implement annual stewardship plans. Support fundraising events in India, including guest list management, communications, and post-event donor relationship nurturing. Proactively identify and pursue grant, award, and funding opportunities from Indian corporations and foundations. Collaborate across teams to secure new investments. Create long-term cultivation and stewardship strategies to enhance donor commitment. Recommend funding opportunities to donors, staying informed on organizational strategies and program details. Collaborate with the India Country Office, Program Operations, and Finance on donor pitches, proposal development, grant management, CSR reporting, and compliance. Work with the donor engagement team on various activities in India.

* **Other (10%):** Analyze Indian donor trends using data analysis tools to inform market plans. Collaborate with global fundraising staff to prepare donor communication materials. Represent Room to Read at fundraising and awareness events. Manage donor stewardship, track and forecast revenue, and create reports using NPSP Salesforce and other tools. Collaborate with global relationship managers on key accounts. Perform other duties as needed.

 

 

**Qualifications:**

 

* Minimum 7-10 years of fundraising experience with high-net-worth individuals, corporations, and/or foundations, or sales to high-net-worth individuals.

* Bachelor’s degree (preferred).

* Proven track record of securing corporate, foundation, or individual funding in the $10,000 to $100,000 range, and relationship management.

* Proficiency in managing and cultivating relationships with foundation and corporate partners and high-net-worth individual donors.

* Excellent public speaking and presentation skills (in-person and virtual).

* Skilled in developing donor engagement and retention strategies to increase long-term giving.

* Proven success in creating fundraising pipelines.

* Proficiency in database systems (e.g., Salesforce).

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

* Demonstrated understanding of Indian CSR grant provisions and landscape.

* Strong cross-cultural communication skills and attention to detail.
