**Job Overview:**
The Program Assistant will provide crucial technical and operational support for the successful implementation of Room to Read’s Girls Education Program (GEP) initiatives in Uttar Pradesh, India. This role encompasses supporting program design, planning, implementation, monitoring, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and quality standards.
**Responsibilities:**
* **Program and Administrative Management:** Manage, execute, and track GEP implementation based on annual plans and program strategy, coordinating with the Room to Read State Office (SO) and Country Office (CO). This includes organizing and facilitating training events and meetings with various stakeholders (teachers, wardens, community members, parents, and girls). The role also involves exploring and securing new resources to benefit the girls, community, and the overall program. Conducting joint observations of learning sessions and providing feedback is a key component.
* **Team Support:** Provide on-the-job support to teachers and wardens, ensuring coordination and support among team members. Conduct regular planning and review meetings.
* **Monitoring and Evaluation:** Conduct regular monitoring visits to schools and KGBVs (Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas), submitting reports in the required format. Review and oversee program activity records, ensuring compliance. Support data verification and entry into Room to Read’s database (GSD and PIIMS/Survey CTO). Analyze and share data during meetings.
* **Reporting and Documentation:** Collect and compile monthly and quarterly program reports from the field, ensuring timely submission to the SO and CO. Document good practices, success stories, and case studies. Assist in social media engagement and tracking. Analyze socio-economic profiles of girls.
* **Technical Support:** Support the development of tools, resources, and guidelines to improve program delivery. Provide field-level technical assistance and mentoring. Assist in data collection and analysis to assess program impact and identify gaps.
**Qualifications:**
* Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, sociology, education, or a relevant field.
* At least 3 years of experience in education programs, preferably with a focus on girls’ education or community development.
* Knowledge of thematic areas such as life skills, gender, mentoring, community mobilization, and issues related to adolescent girls.
* Experience working with government departments.
* Ability to conduct team meetings and workshops.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
* Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
* Computer literacy in standard software (word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, internet).
