**Job Overview:**

 

The Program Assistant will provide crucial technical and operational support for the successful implementation of Room to Read’s Girls’ Education initiative in Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh. This role involves supporting program planning, implementation, and monitoring, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and quality standards.

 

**Responsibilities:**

 

* **Administration:** Oversee two Gender Resource Centers (GRCs) in Sheopur, managing stock, assets, invoicing, and financial reconciliations within program guidelines.

* **Program Management:** Provide field-level technical assistance and mentoring to ensure high-quality program implementation. Manage, execute, and track GEP program implementation based on established plans and strategies.  Strengthen relationships with government officials at district and block levels. Facilitate review meetings with key stakeholders. Support the Program Officer in identifying community organizations and individuals aligned with program objectives, focusing on creating an enabling environment for girls’ education, particularly within tribal communities.  Assist schoolteachers in preparing life skills sessions.  This includes quarterly updates of this information.

* **Teacher Supervision, Training, and Capacity Building:** Train teachers and government functionaries on program content and related themes. Observe sessions, provide constructive feedback and coaching, and utilize observation tools to foster an inclusive and equitable school ecosystem. Provide ongoing support to Master Trainers (MTs) and teachers.

* **Data and Reporting:** Conduct regular monitoring visits to schools and project locations. Collect, consolidate, and analyze field data, developing programmatic correlations and flagging issues. Track quality standards and provide regular updates to the Program Officer. Document best practices, case studies, and lessons learned. Submit weekly and monthly reports summarizing progress, challenges, and recommendations. Compile monthly and quarterly progress reports from field staff.

* **Program Monitoring:** Conduct joint monitoring visits to observe life skills sessions, provide teacher support, and understand program delivery intricacies. Make regular joint visits to project schools with government officials for supportive supervision and monitoring.

 

 

**Qualifications:**

 

* Master’s degree in social work, public administration, sociology, education, or a relevant field.

* At least 3 years of experience in education programs, preferably with a focus on girls’ education, gender equality, or community development.

* Awareness of issues related to girls’ education, gender-transformative education, and adolescent empowerment.

* Proven experience working with tribal/marginalized communities.

* Proven ability in large dataset management and reporting.

* Proven experience working with educators.

* Innovative thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.

* Sensitivity and empathy towards girls’ education and adolescent issues.

* Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

* Computer literacy in standard word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software, along with internet skills.
