**Job Description:**

 

The Industrial Sustainability (IS) team at CEEW supports India’s low-carbon growth by promoting energy and resource efficiency and low/no-carbon energy sources within the manufacturing sector.  The team works on various initiatives, including supply chain analysis, green hydrogen assessment, MSME industry support, and industrial value chain analysis.

 

This role requires a highly committed individual to contribute to and expand multidimensional programs across technical and policy areas.  The successful candidate will conduct high-quality research to inform policy planners and industry leaders on decarbonization options.  Strong analytical skills, including techno-economic analysis, risk assessment, and scenario comparisons, are essential.  Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) are crucial for preparing reports, presentations, and engaging with stakeholders.  The ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines is also vital.

 

**Job Duties and Accountabilities:**

 

* Track policy and technical developments in the industrial and green hydrogen sectors.

* Support policy engagements with government departments through research, data analysis, report writing, and presentations.

* Build data resources through research, web scraping, and primary data collection.

* Conduct research on improving sectoral carbon footprints and feasibility modeling for alternative fuels.

* Write high-quality reports and analyses for internal and external use.

* Create knowledge content (blogs and policy briefs).

* Support stakeholder engagement and convenings.

* Respond to short-turnaround analytical requests and studies.

* Present research findings to various audiences.

* Develop research networks nationally and internationally.

* Periodic travel within India is required.

 

 

**Selection Criteria:**

 

* **Qualifications:** Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technology/Engineering (Energy, Chemical, Mechanical, or related fields).

* **Experience:** Experience in creating techno-economic models using Excel and other software packages.  Experience with programming languages (Python, SQL, R, GIS) is a plus. Knowledge of India’s energy landscape and relevant policy techniques is beneficial.

* **Key Skills:** Strong analytical skills (quantitative research methods); excellent written and oral communication skills in English; ability to conduct techno-economic and cost-benefit analyses; strong project management skills; flexibility and adaptability.
