**Job Location:** Chennai, India
**Job Summary:** The Deputy Manager of Financial and Management Reporting is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of monthly financial transactions, managing fixed asset records, performing cash and bank reconciliations, and overseeing month-end closing processes. This role also involves budget preparation, cost analysis, and managing multiple stakeholders and teams.
**Job Description:**
* Support in the preparation of annual budgets and operating plans.
* Review and analysis of manufacturing costs and related trends.
* Analyze and report actual versus forecast numbers.
* Ensure the month-end close and reporting process is well-established, documented, and adhered to, meeting all internal and corporate deadlines.
* Define, document, update, and communicate roles and responsibilities within the month-end closing and reporting process to all relevant parties.
* Ensure financial statements adhere to corporate accounting policies, highlighting any exceptions to onsite teams.
* Independently review the application of accounting policies to non-routine events and transactions, highlighting any exceptions to the business immediately.
* Investigate and resolve unusual items and exceptions, ensuring proper recording in the general ledger.
* Independently review, validate, authorize, and record journal entries in the appropriate accounting period.
* Identify, reconcile, and eliminate all intercompany transactions and balances in the consolidation process.
* Ensure proper mapping of Profit Centers, Cost Centers, and GL Accounts according to the standard chart of accounts.
**Experience Required:**
* Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost & Management Accountant.
* Minimum 8+ years of experience in the finance and accounting (F&A) domain within an FMCG, automobile, manufacturing, captive, or third-party environment.
* Experience in establishing and reviewing validation checklists for all processes.
* Proven ability to identify and implement Continuous Improvement Projects (Six Sigma, Lean, YB projects) to enhance team productivity, efficiency, and process quality.
* Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Mandatory working knowledge of SAP; Oracle and SAP BPC/BO/BI are advantageous.
