**About the Role:** This is a proposal position contingent on USAID award.  The 5-year USAID-funded project aims to strengthen India’s healthcare system’s resilience to challenges like climate change and emerging diseases.  The Director of Finance and Administration (DFA) will oversee all financial, administrative, human resource, and operational activities for the project in India.  This includes managing the contract budget, preparing financial reports for USAID, ensuring compliance with USG regulations, and implementing fraud mitigation practices. The DFA will supervise a team of F&A staff and report to the Chief of Party (COP).

 

**Experience Required:**

 

* Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field.

* At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, auditing, finance, or business management with a recognized organization, preferably for USAID or other donor-funded programs.

* Demonstrated ability to develop and manage large budgets and in-depth knowledge of accounting principles.

* Experience managing grants under contract for USAID-funded programs of a similar size.

* Progressively responsible experience supervising project operations, including human resources, procurement, and sub-contracts or sub-awards.

* Prior experience in a management role on a USAID-funded program in India is highly desired.

* Demonstrated experience in supervising finance and/or operations staff members.

* Demonstrated experience coordinating and collaborating with various stakeholders.

* Knowledge of Indian labor and tax laws and reporting procedures.

* Knowledge of USAID policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.

* Proficiency in MS Excel and other relevant computing applications.

* Written and spoken fluency in English and Hindi.

 

 

**Preferred Qualifications:**

 

* Strong management, coordination, teamwork, and planning skills.

* Proven leadership and capacity in negotiation and conflict management.

* Effective communication and documentation skills, including report writing and strategic analysis.
