**Job Overview:**
The Program Assistant, GEP (Technical Assistance) will oversee project implementation and lead system strengthening efforts at the district and block levels in Rajasthan, India. This field-based position requires extensive travel to Tribal Area Development (TAD) schools and hostels. The role focuses on quality implementation, coordination, development, and reporting of the Girls’ Education Program (GEP), serving as the primary contact for various stakeholders. The Program Assistant reports to the Girls’ Education Senior Program Officer.
**Responsibilities:**
* **Program Implementation & Quality Assurance:** Support TAD school teachers and wardens in GEP implementation; train teachers and government officials on program content and gender-responsive teaching methods; conduct mentoring sessions with girls; monitor teaching practices and provide feedback; ensure timely and efficient project execution.
* **Data Management & Reporting:** Conduct joint monitoring visits with government officials; collect and analyze field data; enter data into Room to Read’s database; prepare weekly and monthly reports; track program quality standards.
* **Stakeholder Engagement:** Build partnerships with government officials; organize meetings and trainings; liaise with stakeholders to increase GEP visibility; represent Room to Read in various forums.
* **Technical Support & Capacity Building:** Stay updated on relevant policies and programs; participate in workshops; provide technical oversight to stakeholders; identify capacity-building needs; support strategic planning and program expansion.
* **Research & Monitoring:** Support the review of monitoring and evaluation data; identify issues related to program quality; advocate for Room to Read’s educational work.
* **Other Responsibilities:** Provide direction and support to teachers and wardens; participate in annual planning and budgeting.
**Qualifications:**
* Master’s degree in education, social work, development, Gender Studies, or equivalent.
* 2-3 years of relevant experience in girls’ education, gender, life skills, and adolescent-centric mentoring.
* Experience living and/or working in rural and semi-urban areas.
* Experience working with schoolteachers and government officials.
* Understanding of Rajasthan’s educational challenges, including girls’ education and gender issues, and knowledge of relevant state policies.
* Extensive travel required.
* Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
* Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
* Strong organizational and planning skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Experience working with diverse groups.
* Facilitation and training experience.
* Fluency in Hindi and English.
