C40 Cities is a network of nearly 100 mayors of the world’s leading cities committed to addressing the climate crisis and building healthy, equitable, and resilient communities. With a team of 400+ staff across global offices, C40 works with cities to share best practices, provide technical expertise, and communicate their achievements in climate action. The organization is guided by a Steering Committee of C40 mayors and supported by major funders including Bloomberg Philanthropies, the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, and Realdania.
**Position Summary:**
The Regions & Mayoral Engagement Officer will be a key member of the core team, supporting mayoral engagement for global events and daily operations. This role involves close collaboration with the team manager to support internal operations and project-based mayoral engagement for various global milestones. The successful candidate will be highly organized, adaptable to an international and remote working environment, and passionate about urban climate action.
**Responsibilities:**
* Analyze quantitative and qualitative data using Excel and PowerPoint, translating findings into presentations and internal resources.
* Coordinate and support internal and external meetings, including developing background materials, scheduling across time zones, conducting desktop research, coordinating agendas, liaising with other C40 teams, and taking notes.
* Maintain records of data crucial to global mayoral engagement for both daily operations and ad-hoc events.
* Facilitate internal knowledge sharing by coordinating monthly political updates from all regions.
* Collaborate with other C40 teams to support communications with cities, ensuring the successful delivery of global projects and events.
**Qualifications:**
* Minimum 1 year of work experience in environmental policy, international development, local politics, or a related field.
* Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience working across cultures and in sensitive (political) contexts preferred.
* Proven ability to conduct data analysis and create presentations using Microsoft Office; willingness to learn new software like Salesforce.
* Exceptional time management skills, particularly while working remotely.
* Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages are desirable.
* Passion for C40’s mission and a strong interest in urban climate action.
**Other Requirements:**
* Right to work in India.
* Moderate travel will be required.

**Term:** Fixed-term contract until February 28, 2026
**Compensation:** (Grade 5) INR 1,214,008 (gross per annum)
