The Convergence Foundation (formerly Foundation for Economic Development – FED) is a Delhi-based non-profit organization dedicated to achieving sustained, broad-based economic growth exceeding 10% in India.  The foundation believes that robust economic growth is the most effective means of poverty reduction and improved quality of life.  FED focuses on identifying high-potential economic sectors (currently emphasizing export-led, labor-intensive manufacturing and tourism) and collaborates with policymakers to implement impactful reforms.  The organization boasts a distinguished advisory board including Dr. Aravind Panagariya, Naushad Forbes, Gurcharan Das, Jerry Rao, and Ashish Dhawan, providing strategic guidance and support.  FED’s work is structured around research and strategy, communication and outreach, and implementation support, engaging with government agencies, private sector leaders, and economists at national and international levels.

 

**Job Description:**

 

The Convergence Foundation seeks an exceptional Team Lead – Projects to contribute to its ambitious growth and development.  This high-energy role requires a self-starter with a strong bias for action and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, startup-like environment. The Team Lead will spearhead project design and execution, aligning with the organization’s mission, goals, and targets.  This involves leading a team in creating actionable plans, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outputs.  The role demands strong stakeholder management skills, encompassing both internal and external collaborations, including interactions with government officials, private sector executives, and leading economists.  The Team Lead will also contribute to the creation and dissemination of communication materials, such as op-eds, to articulate the Foundation’s positions on key issues.

 

**Key Responsibilities:**

 

* Conceptualize and scope workstreams, leading their execution from initiation to completion.

* Collaborate with leadership to implement work plans, ensuring achievement of targets and goals.

* Contribute to stakeholder mapping and advocacy planning.

* Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with government and private sector leaders.

* Develop and publish op-eds and other communication materials.

* Manage diverse operational tasks to support organizational success.

* Prepare structured documents and presentations.

* Generate progress reports for internal and external reviews.

* Manage projects and coordinate with stakeholders.

* Analyze data and provide insightful recommendations.

 

 

**Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:**

 

* Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Economics from a top-tier institution.

* 6 years of relevant experience.

* Exceptional planning and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines.

* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, including strong presentation and facilitation abilities.

* Adaptability and responsiveness, with the capacity to adjust priorities based on organizational needs.

* Proficiency in working with large datasets using spreadsheets.

* Ability to work independently and proactively with minimal supervision.

* Positive attitude and willingness to learn in ambiguous situations.
