**Job Summary:**
The Program Assistant, GEP (Technical Assistance), will play a crucial role in overseeing project implementation and leading system strengthening initiatives at the district and block levels in Rajasthan, India. This field-based position requires extensive travel to Tribal Area Development (TAD) schools and hostels. The successful candidate will provide support to TAD school teachers and wardens, ensuring quality implementation of Room to Read’s Girls’ Education Program (GEP). The role reports to the Girls’ Education Senior Program Officer.
**Responsibilities:**
* **Program Implementation & Quality Assurance:** Develop a thorough understanding of the GEP, train teachers and government officials, conduct gender-sensitive mentoring sessions with girls, observe teaching practices, and provide constructive feedback and coaching. Lead project implementation at the district and block levels, ensuring timely and efficient execution. Provide ongoing support to Master Trainers, teachers, and wardens. Conduct regular monitoring visits and collaborate with block and district-level officials.
* **Data Management & Reporting:** Collect and consolidate field data, enter data into Room to Read’s database, analyze data, and provide regular updates to the Program Officer. Track program quality standards and submit weekly and monthly reports.
* **Stakeholder Engagement:** Build partnerships with government officials, organize meetings and trainings, develop linkages with other organizations, and represent Room to Read in various forums.
* **Technical Support & Capacity Building:** Stay updated on government policies, participate in workshops, provide technical oversight to RPs and district-level functionaries, and support capacity-building activities.
* **Research & Monitoring:** Support the State team in reviewing monitoring and evaluation data, identify key issues around program quality, and advocate for Room to Read’s educational work.
* **Other Responsibilities:** Provide direction and support to teachers and wardens, participate in the annual planning and budgeting process, and undertake additional activities as required.
**Qualifications:**
* Master’s degree in education, social work, development, Gender Studies, or an equivalent field.
* Minimum 2-3 years of relevant work experience in girls’ education, gender, life skills, and adolescent-centric mentoring.
* Prior experience living and/or working in rural and semi-urban areas.
* Experience working closely with schoolteachers and government officials.
* Demonstrated understanding of Rajasthan’s educational challenges, including girls’ education and gender issues, and knowledge of regional education policies.
* Extensive travel required to district/block levels.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork abilities.
* Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel.
* Strong organizational and planning skills.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and take initiative.
* Experience working with diverse groups of people.
* Experience in facilitation and training.
* Fluency in Hindi and English.
