### **About the Company:**  

India Health Action Trust (IHAT) was established in 2003 as a Charitable Trust with a vision to address health and social inequities among vulnerable and marginalized populations. IHAT works closely with the Government of India and state governments, including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Bihar, to achieve public health goals. The organization focuses on areas such as prevention and control of HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis, improving Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, and Child Health (RMNCH), nutrition, and strengthening health systems. IHAT uses program science to optimize and scale public health programs while partnering with governments and communities.

 

 

### **Position Overview:**  

**Team Leader, Urban Health Initiative (TL-UHI)**  

The Team Leader will provide strategic leadership for the urban health initiative, focusing on developing and implementing urban health programs in three cities. The role involves working closely with the government of Uttar Pradesh (GoUP), coordinating with technical partners, and stakeholders to design, implement, and evaluate urban health innovations.

 

 

### **Key Responsibilities:**  

– Provide strategic leadership for the urban health initiative and support the conceptualization, ideation, and implementation of urban health programs.  

– Identify existing urban health models, best practices, and innovations, and document them for replication.  

– Coordinate with technical teams to integrate inputs, facilitate reviews, and provide feedback on implementation.  

– Plan and implement urban health programs, ensuring alignment with government goals and donor requirements.  

– Monitor program progress, conduct review meetings, and address systemic barriers to improve healthcare delivery.  

– Explore digital health innovations (e.g., telemedicine, mobile health platforms) to enhance urban health services.  

– Ensure gender-sensitive approaches and address the needs of vulnerable populations, including migrants and slum dwellers.  

– Develop project documents such as situation analysis reports, success stories, and procurement plans.  

– Identify funding opportunities and prepare proposals for program expansion and sustainability.  

– Conduct supportive supervision, field monitoring, and research to strengthen urban health systems.

 

 

### **Qualifications:**  

**Experience:**  

– A minimum of 12 years of experience in public health, with at least 3 years in urban health.  

 

**Education:**  

– Master’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, human rights, gender/women’s studies, international development, public health, or a related field is required.  

– PhD in relevant fields is preferred.  

 

 

### **Key Competencies:**  

– Strong understanding of urban health systems and issues.  

– Experience working with government at various levels.  

– Excellent reporting, analysis, and communication skills.  

– Ability to work independently on complex projects and manage them proactively.  

– Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).  

– Familiarity with Indian public health systems and stakeholders.  

– Strong teamwork abilities and effective interpersonal skills.
