### **Job Summary**
The Global South Decarbonization Lead will play a pivotal role in supporting policy practitioners (in government and industry associations) to identify gaps in decarbonizing hard-to-abate industries. This role involves translating research insights into actionable policy tools for governments across India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Indonesia, and South Africa.

### **Key Responsibilities**
– Strategically develop decarbonization programs for textile, cement, and steel industries.
– Collaborate with subnational and national government departments to map the current policy ecosystem and identify gaps.
– Engage with industry bodies and leaders to understand policy challenges and opportunities.
– Iterate on strategic frameworks to effectively engage governments, private sector players, and civil society partners.
– Support high-level discussions and roundtables to disseminate findings and initiate policy dialogues.
– Develop reports, papers, and materials on strategic interventions for governments across the global south.
– Monitor and evaluate program implementation, making necessary adjustments.
– Represent Swaniti in workshops, meetings, and platforms related to energy transition and just transition planning.

### **Qualifications and Skills**
– **Education:** Master’s or higher degree in Public Policy, climate, energy transition, or decarbonization.
– **Experience:** 10+ years of experience in the climate and energy transition space, with a focus on working with governments and industry associations.
– **Communication:** Strong verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated through previous reports, presentations, etc.
– **Leadership:** Proven ability to manage teams and deliver results across programs.
– **Skills:** Leadership and management experience in decarbonizing industries; past research experience combined with policy engagement is a plus.
– **Additional:** Strong resonance with government and industry association stakeholders.
