**Job Description: Program Associate – Mapping and Monitoring**
**Location:** Bhopal, India

**Role Overview:**
WRI India’s Food, Land and Water program seeks a Program Associate with expertise in remote sensing and GIS. The role involves supporting data collection, geospatial analysis, monitoring framework development, and report writing to facilitate large-scale landscape restoration projects in Madhya Pradesh.
**Key Responsibilities:**
– Conduct geospatial analysis to identify high-potential areas for landscape restoration within pilot sites.
– Utilize GIS tools to assess land use, vegetation cover, and hydrological features, preparing thematic maps for INRM interventions.
– Support government and implementation partners with geospatial insights for improved planning and resource allocation.
– Generate reports, dashboards, and spatial visualizations using GIS and remote sensing data.
– Engage in training stakeholders on geospatial tools and contribute to best-practice compendiums.
– Monitor INRM interventions in real-time and collaborate with government departments and NGOs.
**Qualifications:**
– Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in remote sensing, GIS, environmental science, or related fields.
– Minimum two years of experience applying geospatial tools for land use planning and management.
– Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
– Experience working with rural development programs and government databases is beneficial.
– Strong analytical skills, ability to communicate effectively, and comfort working in rural settings.
**Salary:**
₹9,50,000 to ₹12,50,000 CTC per annum (commensurate with experience).
