**Job Description: Public Health Laboratory Expert**

**Position Overview:**
PATH seeks a Public Health Laboratory Expert on Third Party Payroll (Randstad) to guide the strategic implementation, monitoring, and enhancement of the metropolitan disease surveillance program. This role involves collaboration with national health authorities, stakeholders, and technical partners to strengthen laboratory infrastructure and improve public health outcomes.
**Key Responsibilities:**
– Conduct assessments of public health laboratory infrastructure, staffing, and capabilities.
– Develop strategies for private sector engagement in laboratory-based disease surveillance.
– Evaluate and enhance laboratory quality assurance systems.
– Design and implement training programs for laboratory personnel.
– Provide technical support to state and national health agencies.
– Support data integration into national surveillance systems.
– Contribute to the development of national policies for laboratory-based disease surveillance.
**Qualifications:**
– **Education:** Master’s degree in microbiology, molecular biology, or related field. PhD or MD in Microbiology preferred.
– **Experience:** Minimum 10 years in public health laboratory systems, with expertise in disease surveillance, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and infectious diseases, particularly in urban settings.
– **Skills:** Exceptional communication skills in English and Hindi; strong project management abilities; proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with LIMS.
– **Knowledge:** Deep understanding of India’s health system, including IHIP, IDSP, NHM, Ayushman Bharat, PM-ABHIM, and BPHU components.
