Brief about the role – The Senior Program Manager (SPM) coordinates and leads programmatic activity with a region, thus ensuring progress towards successful implementation of all projects and sub-projects ensuring positive impact on community. Utilizing existing resources to execute the plan, the role not only manages and coaches a team towards outcomes, but it also serves as culture and movement builder for the region. Finally, the Senior Program Manager holds a wider commitment to organizational success, providing thought-partnership and broader leadership to building a sustainable and values-driven organization.
SPM is expected to lead multiple teams working in various verticals, for a total team size of 100+ employees, driven towards implementing a holistic development program towards sustainable livelihood generation through skilling/training and community ownership.
Roles & Responsibility –
- Lead, inspire and manage teams working on diverse domains including health, skill development, farm & non-farm based livelihoods and tourism development in the region.
- Effective communication, coordination and optimum utilization of all resources (human, physical and knowledge)
- Leverage experience in managing producer groups like cooperatives, FPOs and capacity building of SHG members.
- Coordinate with multiple Stakeholders like Gram Panchayat, BDO, Local MLA/MP, Donors/Funding agencies, and Civil Society to understand local political & policy dynamics. Also, for the furtherance of the program.
- Coordinate and facilitate ongoing visits to National project for various Sewa team members including NRIs, volunteers, any other important personnel from Govt. or private sector.
- Financial management of entire project. Should monitor and forecast monthly and annual budgets.
- Inspire team with oral and written skills. Also, to draft proposals and reports for donor reporting and CSR, Govt./Foreign Grants etc. for fund raising.
- Participate actively for formulation of official rules & regulations.
- Understand and analyze outcome of various programs running (developing case studies, analytical reports, success stories, proposals etc.)
- Take lead on convergence with various government and non-government offices for furtherance of programs and smooth implementation.
- Ability to identify and create new programs as per needs. Coordinate and find appropriate donor bases for new programs and ensure sustainability.
- Strong written, oral & public speaking skills, including ability to draft proposals and write donor reports.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-tasking efficiently and undertake travel at short notice.
- Strong project management skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams including building capacities of the teams.
- Aptitude to lead, manage & implement different processes and activities to achieve overall strategic goals.
- Accomplishment of any other task as designated by higher management.
Must have –
- Strong language skills (read/write/speak) especially in English and Hindi.
- 10+ years of total working experience in Social Sector.
- 8+ years of project management experience in rural setting with at least 20 employees.
