Position Overview:

The Program Associate in Girls Education Program (GEP) spends time to assist Project Lead to implement program with quality and carrying out all activities of Project in state. The position will be based in District Head Quarters and will involve frequent travel to field. The work will entail providing support to Project Lead in all activities like documentation of all activities, draft quality case stories/success stories and planning of stakeholder engagement. S/he will also be responsible for supporting in action research, strengthening linkages with like- minded organizations, liaison with block/district level officials, regular program and financial tracking, collecting program data and entering it into RtRs database and determining and delivering material support for girls participating in the program. The Program Associate reports to Project Lead.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Program Implementation as per program design

 • Undertake regular field based monitoring as per the approved monitoring plan

 • Fill the monitoring forms, consolidate and report to state office.

 • Participate in regular trainings and meetings with Room to Read staff.

 • Ensure feedback provided by various stakeholder is recorded in written regularly.

• Building linkages with likeminded organizations

• Support PL/PO for creating visibility of GEP in District and State level.

Planning, Reporting and Documentation

• Documentation of state level initiatives

• Project reports at district level

• Support in conducting Action Researches at District

• Collect this data and provide to PL/PO as needed and agreed as per data flow mechanisms

• Collect this data (MIS), provide it to the PL/PO, and enter it into Room to Read’s database (as indicated).

• Document best practices, case studies, photos and lessons learned and share with the GEP Team.

• Flag challenges/issues/timely alerts to PL/PO to ensure smooth implementation.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Master’s degree in Education/ Social Work/ development/Gender Studies or equivalent to these.

• 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience in areas of girls education, gender and life skills

• Prior experience of living and/ working in rural and semi urban areas

• Prior experience of working closely with school teachers and government

• This position requires extensive travel to district/block levels.

• Good interpersonal skills and a team player.

• Good understanding of MS word and MS excel for reporting purpose.

• Strong organizational and planning skills including the ability to monitor progress of program implementation.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously and take initiative.

• Prior experience of working closely with diverse groups of people.

• Prior experience of conducting action research projects

• Prior experience in facilitation and training

• Good knowledge of Hindi and English

• Strong analytical skills

• Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills, with proven ability to work with excel

• Experience in data entry and analysis

 

Preferred:

• Fluency in Hindi Communication (Written and Verbal)

• Experience of working on counselling techniques related to adolescent girls

• Good knowledge of local dialect. Prior experience of living and/ working in rural and semi urban areas

• Prior experience of working closely with the community, school teachers and government officials
