ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY – MANAGER, CONTENT WRITING

For the last ten years, Medha has delivered a unique experiential learning program to young people in the ‘Hindi-belt.’  

Based on the Four Cs of 21st-century skills – communications, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking – the program aims to prepare young people to start and excel in diverse career paths of their choice. 

Constantly upgraded and enhanced, the program has evolved significantly over the last decade, along with changing student and market demands. As we look to the future of learning and work, we are doubling down on the program’s transformative impact on young people’s lives.

This profile requires someone who is passionate about working with youth, can deliver clear and concise writing aligned with the brand editorial voice, and build the organization’s capacity to be creative storytellers.

What you will do: 

You will be responsible for managing the execution of projects in the following areas:

  • Writing blogs: Identify leads, conduct interviews, and travel to publish compelling, data-informed, and SEO-friendly blogs, along with copyediting blogs.
  • Writing for marketing collaterals: Deliver persuasive copy for video stories, event collaterals, program brochures, and reports.
  • Monitoring and Compliance: Quality check content published by the organization on the website to ensure it follows brand editorial guidelines for consistency.
  • Capacity Building: Build the organization’s capacity as blog and report writers.
  • Managing impact stories: Write and organize a collection of impact stories from the field.

What your day might look like:

While no two days are the same, some may look like this… 

  • You upload the final version of your blog on WordPress for review.   
  • You review and suggest copyedits for a project update report prepared by the Medhavi Association for their funders.
  • You transcribe notes from your call with a life skills program student to prepare an impact story for the program funder.
  • You get on a call with the System Adoptions team to get a brief on preparing a pitching deck for potential state government partners.
  • You prepare a project plan for a ground story you want to cover in Patna and share it for review.
  • You conduct a monthly quality check of the job descriptions uploaded on the website and flag any inconsistencies to the People team.

The ideal candidate has the following capabilities:

  • Ability to think clearly and see the big picture.
  • A data-driven and stakeholder-first mindset.
  • Excellent creative and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized.
  • Patient and takes feedback positively.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize different tasks.
  • Knowledge of blog and copywriting, editing, best research, interviewing, and SEO practices.
  • Versatile in English and Hindi.
  • Expert in using Content Management Software, such as WordPress.

And some prior experience:

An experience of 2-3 years is preferred. However, if you have fewer years of experience and believe the skills you have built can be applied to this work, please communicate how and why in your application.
