Job Overview:

We are seeking an Outreach Officer with a background in Mass Communication to join our Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing outreach and communications strategies to increase awareness and support for our organization’s cause. The Outreach Officer will work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute campaigns and initiatives that engage both current and potential supporters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive outreach and communication strategies to promote the organization and its initiatives.
• Plan and execute various campaigns, including social media, email, and direct mail, to engage current and potential supporters.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute fundraising campaigns.
• Write and edit various types of content, including press releases, blog posts, and newsletter articles, to increase awareness and support for the organization.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, community leaders, and other stakeholders to promote the organization’s cause.
• Manage the organization’s social media presence, including creating and scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and responding to inquiries.
• Collect and analyze data to track the success of outreach and communication efforts and make recommendations for improvement.
• Attend events, community meetings, and other outreach opportunities to represent the organization and increase awareness and support.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s / Masters degree in Mass Communication or a related field.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Knowledge of fundraising and marketing techniques.
• Proficiency in using social media and other digital tools to reach and engage audiences.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for the mission and values of the organization.
