Expertise

The Research Fellow is expected to lead ORF Strategic Studies Programme’s research projects related to Canadian affairs. This will involve research on political, diaspora and foreign policy developments in Canada. Further, the Research Fellow will focus on analysing key issues and developments in India’s engagement with Canada as well as Canada’s nascent Indo-Pacific strategy. The Research Fellow will look at overall Canada – India relations with a key focus areas on security, trade, diaspora and Indo- Pacific.

Responsibilities & Expectations

• The Research Fellow will be expected to undertake analysis of the foreign policy strategies of Canada, bilateral and multilateral relations between India and Canada.
• Lead and manage ongoing and new research projects in the field of Canada – India relations and strategic studies
• Liaise with partners and stakeholders engaged in these areas.
• Lead, liaise and manage events, programs, publications between ORF and partner organizations in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

• Indian nationality preferred.
• Masters in International Economics, International Relations, Public Policy, International Business ( or a Masters program with a strong international focus)
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
• Excellent research, quantitative, reporting and writing skills.
• Strong interest and passion for international relations, foreign policy, public policy.
• Enthusiastic and creative team player with ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Travel as required within India and to Canada when needed.
