Website CSEP
CSEP is looking to hire a Research Fellow to lead a range of studies related to the clean energy transition, with a focus on electric mobility (electric vehicles, or EVs). Fellows are senior researchers in the organization, whose work is meant to impact national discourse and policy-setting.
The ongoing energy transition has many facets, one of which is the expected rise of EVs. An initial question of importance is the impact of such vehicles on the electricity system, both at an aggregate power supply level as well as at a local (infrastructural) level. This includes, for example, issues of heterogeneity, uncertainty, and time of day of charging.
We are building first-of-a-kind models that capture such issues, and a portion of the work would be quantitative or techno-economic. Such work would be a subset or component of larger studies on the transition, carried out by a team consisting of Fellows, Senior Fellows, and Distinguished Fellows.
For exceptional candidates with decades of domain experience, we can also consider hiring at the Senior Fellow level. We are also open to hiring strong candidates at the Associate Fellow level who have a fresh PhD or a Masters plus 5 years of relevant experience, including a track record of scholarship in the domain.
