About the Vertical: Based in New Delhi, India, Planning and Policy Domain (PPD) of DA Group has the mandate to influence and support public policy in the transition towards sustainable development by connecting practice with policy. It develops innovative policy and practice-oriented research to guide policymakers and domestic/international leaders.

Our focus areas are Inclusive Development (Green Entrepreneurship & Livelihood, Agriculture and FPOs, Eco-Tourism, Equity and Resource Efficiency), Sustainable Consumption & Production (Water, Green Building Materials and Waste Management); and Climate Change Resilience (Climate Change Adaptation: Water/Agriculture, Climate Finance & SDG-CC Inter Linkages).

Job Description:

We are looking for a Fellow- Sustainable Finance & Green Entrepreneurship to join our team. This position will work directly with the Senior Manager at Development Alternatives to contribute to the organisation’s work towards mainstreaming green economic recovery principles in policy as well as praxis.

The primary responsibility of the research fellow would be to support the Planning and Policy Domain in conducting policy and technical research on Micro-Entrepreneurship, Green & Sustainable Finance work and related national and sub-national policies/ budget. You would work in a highly interdisciplinary team in a very dynamic environment and would be encouraged to look at possible synergies across systems, sectors, and scales to design and implement cross-cutting projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting planning and execution of projects on green entrepreneurship as well as financing for climate change adaptation and mitigation in coordination with the project manager.
  • Conduct research on existing policies, conceptualize new ideas and make recommendations on improving the practice of nano and micro entrepreneurs, sectoral schemes and policies, climate change adaptation, and climate finance.
  • Ability to work closely with local/ national/ international stakeholders.
  • Conduct research for ongoing projects including field data collection, secondary data collection, conducting interviews and surveys, data compilation and analysis.
  • Support team in writing and editing technical reports and knowledge products, preparing presentations, organizing webinars and workshops, conducting fieldwork under the supervision of a senior manager.

The applicant should have:

  • Experienced in the literature review, primary survey designing, primary and secondary data collection/ analysis, technical report writing and presentation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and oral communication skills in Hindi.
  • Independent thinking, planning and designing research initiatives, in-depth understanding of the policy environment around sustainability and finance, proven editing presentation, analytical, written and verbal communication skills, especially in English.
