About Swaniti

Swaniti Initiative aims to strengthen public service delivery by working with state and local governments across South Asia with a strong focus on India. Our interventions have included strengthening scheme implementation by identifying current gaps and limitations, providing research support to Hon’ble Members of Parliament about best practices in moving forward, and developing data-technology tools that can back decision-making processes. With flagship initiatives like Supporting Parliamentarians in Analysis and Research in Constituencies (SPARC) and Leadership and Engagement Associate in District (LEAD), Swaniti has supported constituency development and district development planning in various parts of the country. At present, along with working with 200+ Hon’ble Members of Parliamentarians for policy making, are working as advisors to state governments to ensure the delivery of schemes to the last mile. Major verticals of our work are climate and sustainability, social protection, and livelihood.

About the Internship

Swaniti Initiative is seeking a cohort of interns to contribute to on-ground impact evaluation, data collection, and research for governance projects. The interns will be engaged in various projects addressing the burning issues in the country like poverty, migration, livelihood, etc. The intern will be supporting the team in grassroots evaluation, liaisoning with various Civil society organizations and NGOs, and government departments. The candidate should understand basic methods of research, data collection, and analysis. The candidate should be passionate about working in the public policy space and contribute to creating solutions.

Scope of work

  • Assisting the team in collating the data and generating reports
  • Providing research support to the team
  • Carryout exercises in coordination with monitoring and evaluation
  • Supporting the team in populating the relevant database and keeping a track of events
  • Evaluation of the policy implementation and conducting surveys
  • Working closely with the policy implementation team at the grassroots level
  • Policy research and analysis, impact evaluation of the policies at the last mile
  • Providing assistance in stakeholder management
  • Other tasks assigned by the team leader.

Qualifications required

  • Masters’ degree in public policy, development studies, regulatory and governance, or relevant fields
  • Candidates, who recently completed their master’s degree will be preferred
  • Strong interest in public policy and implementation will also be preferred
