**Job Title:** Agrometeorology Associate (Re-advertised)

**Job Description:**
The Agrometeorology Associate will work within UNDP’s ongoing program with the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare (MoA&FW), supporting the implementation of PMFBY and KCC. The role involves data analysis, technology implementation, and capacity building. Specific responsibilities include:
* Analyzing and preparing reports on weather data, forecasting, and hydrometeorology.
* Collecting and validating weather data from various sources.
* Generating weather data surfaces and comparing multi-source datasets.
* Conducting research and development in weather data analytics and agrometeorological advisories.
* Providing training and fostering partnerships with government departments and institutions.
* Contributing to project reports and presentations.
* Supporting the development and maintenance of desktop and web applications related to PMFBY.
* Creating a visualization and analysis platform for diverse datasets.
**Experience Required:**
* Minimum 7 years of relevant experience with a High School certificate OR 4 years with a Bachelor’s degree in Agrometeorology, Meteorology, Agriculture Physics, Agronomy, or a related field.
* At least 4 years of experience in GIS-based analysis using weather and other datasets.
* Proficiency in computer programming for handling large weather data and weather-based risk analysis.
* Experience in project management, budget formulation, and climate risk management.
* At least 2 years of experience in a government project related to weather data analysis and crop yield modeling.
* Working experience with Python, Esri’s ArcGIS, and other GIS and remote sensing software (e.g., ERDAS IMAGINE, ENVI, QGIS, SNAP, GRASS, R).
* In-depth knowledge of weather data analysis, quality control, and remote sensing applications in agriculture.
* Experience in crop loss modeling or agricultural statistics.
* Demonstrated ability to lead meetings and provide training.
* Experience working with Central and/or State Governments and/or national/international agencies.
* Fluency in English and Hindi (oral and written).
**Grade:** NPSA-7
**Contract Duration:** 1 Year
