Position: Research Associate (full time, 6 months probation period)

Job Description: This position would require the candidate to have strong analytical thinking, writing and interpersonal communication skills.

The candidate should have experience in working with implementation based developmental organization/s, and proven experience in working with data sets and any relevant software for the same, Monitoring and Evaluation systems, MIS platforms. Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis, data cleaning, descriptive and other statistics is preferred. In this role, the candidate would play a key role in ensuring that the values, philosophy and key approaches of the organization are demonstrated in a consistent manner across the work portfolio.

About the Role & Responsibilities

  • Create frameworks of analysis for studies being conducted
  • Analyse data using econometrics and prepare the reports and decks for program team
  • Engage in data cleaning and monitoring and provide alert to the respective programme managers, team leads and procurement officers on corrective actions required to avoid delays in implementation, including flagging quality issues, operational issues and risks requiring timely actions
  • Provide assistance to run the on-going M&E system and develop tools as per the need to enable all program teams to be able to collect, aggregate and support analysis of data seamlessly, in order to meet all relevant reporting requirements and to facilitate and inform program management and strategy
  • Ensure monitoring and evaluation system will efficiently track the project/ programme results at different levels (outputs, outcomes and impact)
  • Develop the M&E Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Incorporate programmatic / operational team feedback to ensure the continuous improvement of data management systems
  • Analyse MIS data and prepare reports according to project demands and assist program managers and team leads in analysing of the data to communicate key learnings and plan on next steps with implemented projects
  • In liaison with Research and Program Team leads and Program Managers, review M&E plans for various projects and other monitoring, evaluation, research and learning tools for consistency with the organizations M&E needs

Requirements

  • Between 2-4 years of working experience in evaluation and data analytics in social development sector
  • In-depth knowledge of M&E systems, MIS, Impact evaluations etc
  • Familiarity with research methodologies, tools and analysis for qualitative and quantitative studies
  • Sound knowledge of livelihood sector, renewable energy and social development
  • Good analytical skills e.g. the ability to derive meaningful relationships in the data to draw meaningful insights using statistical software packages such as R, Stata
  • Efficient user of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Fluency in oral and written English. Proficiency in other languages such as Hindi, Kannada, Odiya, Assamese, Manipuri will be an added advantage
  • Willingness to participate in field activities/surveys and travel to remote areas within the region
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willing & enthusiastic learner
  • Has the ability to service clients and perform under deadline pressure

Qualification

  • Master’s degree in economics, data analysis, demography, or other relevant social science field that includes statistical training and experimental methods
