The Hans Foundation, established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that that works for the improvement of quality of life for underprivileged communities across  India  through Health,  Education, Livelihood and Disability sector interventions. THF undertakes direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing funding support to not-for-profit organizations in India through its donor – RIST, USA. THF’s Strategic planning focuses on key areas of its work with the aim of addressing the key issues of poverty alleviation, economic inequalities, and 360° impact on the quality of life through social development programs. THF’s programs are majorly implemented in the most rural and under-developed areas in the country. Over the years, THF has expanded its charitable activities in collaboration with State and Central Governments, institutions, corporates, academia and non-government organizations for sustainable interventions to achieve scale and economy. The interventions implemented by the foundation range from grass root level to national level programs.

JOB PURPOSE 

THF expects the Assistant / Deputy Manager – Human Resources to have knowledge of various HR functions. They will be responsible for delivering on the organization’s plans on recruitment, induction, training intervention planning, data management, employee engagement, performance management and other HR activities.

 

Key Accountabilities

Lead full-cycle recruitment process and recruit positions in THF and its projects.
The individual will be responsible for pro-active sourcing, advertising, screening, scheduling interviews, reference checking for open positions
Maintain all documentation pertaining to Recruitment, including tracking weekly recruitment metrics.
Management Information/Reporting: Recruitment MIS, Employees MIS
Support the development and implementation of HR policies and systems.
Update policy regularly and propose further changes based on best practices in the development sector. Update HR manual from time to time as needed.
Create and implement effective staff induction plans.
Advice on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits procedures.
Plan and implement training programs including health and safety.
Keeping personnel files up to date. Process payroll for each month in coordination with Finance department. Monitor employee records (attendance, personal files, EPF payments, insurances, gratuity etc.) according to policy and legal requirements.
Interpret, advise and keep staff updated on employment-related laws. Review employment and working conditions to ensure legal compliance and adhere to laws and regulations.
Standardize, update and carry out Annual Performance Management processes and its documentation.
Deal with grievances and implement disciplinary procedures. Support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues, manage legal issues, notices
Develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with key stakeholders internally and externally including Universities, recruiting agencies, vendors etc.

Other Indicative Requirements 

Educational Qualifications

Graduate in any discipline. Candidates having masters degree in relevant field will be given preference.
Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant Experience & Other requirements (Behavioural, Language, Certifications etc.)

At least 6 years’ total HR experience
Preferably from Social Development sector
Computer Skills: Must be proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel;
Knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development etc.)
Interpersonal skills to form effective working relationships with people at all levels
Ability to analyze, interpret and explain employment and other laws.
Outstanding organizational and time-management abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude
Ethical and dependable
