Position: Assistant Manager – Branding and Communication

Swaniti Initiative is a social enterprise that aims to deliver development solutions by working in partnership with the parliamentarians and central/state/district governments. We leverage on-ground presence and the use of data and technology tools to strengthen last mile delivery of programs to the most vulnerable populations. 

About the Position 

We are looking for an experienced professional who is keen on taking up a role that is focused on enhancing the visibility of the work of the organization in public space and conducting outreach for the purpose of partnership with institutions of eminence across the world. The role remains responsible for interacting with team members of various projects, understanding the value of the impact created, and carving out stories from the same. The role also requires the individual to understand the paradigm of public policy, the objectives of the organization, and the appropriate institutions with whom mutually empowering partnerships may be built. It requires a dynamic outlook, identifying opportunities, an attitude of staying abreast with ongoing development, technological interventions in communication, and the ability to handle the digital and physical presence of the organization. As a part of the Media and Communication team, the person will be required to ensure that the websites, social media channels, media relations, events coverage, other physical visibility, and communication with institutions are consistent and of high quality.

Remuneration: Commensurate to the experience and market standards

Qualifications required:

  • Masters’ degree in either media and communication, public policy, journalism, globalization or alike subjects with a preference for those having a multidisciplinary academic profile 
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in the role of communication or brand development
  • Special value for polished business writing skills and IEC material design skills
  • Prior experience in working with multilateral agencies and large foundations will be favorably looked upon. 
  • Knowledge of website and social media management  will be of advantage 
  • Strong organizational skills with the foundation of value-based decision-making are preferred
  • The role requires your sheer interest in competing with yourself and strive to do better in a self-driven mode

Responsibilities 

  • Create content for visibility of the organization on the basis of work being done 
  • Outreach and maintain working relations with industry experts, mentors, and other resource persons
  • Build partnerships with mainstream media for coverage of work being done by the organization
  • Handle the communication channels of the organization which includes all websites, social media accounts, and blogs
  • Work closely with the agency handling website of the organization
  • Support the organization in designing, developing, reviewing, editing, and translating communication materials
  • Work with various verticals of the organization to identify projects, stories, and messages that are engaging, motivating, and high quality, and which communicate impact and showcase the work of the organization
  • Identify opportunities for creating and delivering inspiring and attractive multimedia content about the work of the organization
  • Contribute to identifying new and creative ways to enhance the visibility of the organization
  • Support the organization with the creation and delivery of communication activities and products such as written content, newsletters, infographics, events posters, and other success stories related to the work of the organization
  • Support the organization in documenting learnings and building a ‘library’ of communication materials
  • Ability to function in tight timelines
