About us

Lend-a-Hand India (LAHI) is a 16 year old NGO with the mission to integrate vocational education with mainstream education for students from 9th to 12th grade level and equip them with an entrepreneurial mindset to thrive in the real world ahead. We facilitate “school to work” transition for these 14-18 year old in-school students by imparting vocational education and internship opportunities as a part of the secondary school curriculum.

We aim to universalize vocational education and restore “dignity of labor” as lack of dignity of labor is one of the major impediments in India which restricts the youth from achieving their full potential. Currently, more than 1 million+ young students from 10,000+ high schools in 24 states/UTs across India are part of the program.

Majority of our work is in partnership with the state governments by helping the state governments to scale up vocational education in the state under ‘Samagra Shiksha’ scheme of Ministry of Education. 

Recently, Lend A Hand India was awarded The organization was recently awarded a system change grant by Co-Impact, a donor collaborative consisting of Rockefeller, Gates, Chandler, Nilekanis and others.

Job Description

Overview:

Lend A Hand India (LAHI), an official partner with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), is actively seeking a dynamic Assistant Manager to oversee and facilitate various skill education initiatives under the Skill Unit of CBSE. The Assistant Manager will actively contribute to strategic planning, coordination, and execution of skill education projects across government and private CBSE-affiliated schools.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  • Oversee and manage the Skill Education project, contributing to the development and execution of a strategic roadmap.
  • Actively engage in the planning and implementation of the Skill Hub Initiative (SHI) and Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMVKY) Program of CBSE.

Policy and Guidelines Development:

  • Contribute valuable inputs to various policy drafts and guidelines, ensuring they align with project objectives and requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Host and organize meetings with diverse CBSE program stakeholders, including representatives from ministries, private firms, and schools.
  • Establish and maintain strong networks with Sector Skill Councils and Industry partners to support various project requirements.

Documentation & Communication:

  • Prepare and manage official documents including letters, proposals, presentations, concept notes, policy briefs, and budget sheets.
  • Collaborate with third-party consultancy agencies to organize and execute communication and advocacy-related activities.

Coordination & Support:

  • Directly coordinate with CBSE-affiliated government and private schools for project-related requirements and support.
  • Facilitate procurement processes with vendors and agencies to ensure timely acquisition of goods and services.
  • Provide consistent support to CBSE in the daily operations of various skill project interventions.

Meeting Facilitation:

  • Confidently lead and facilitate meetings with CBSE’s Finance and Legal departments and significant stakeholders related to the World Bank Project.

Requirements

What you Bring:

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in Project Management, with at least two years in large-scale project management for state government or central ministry.
  • Prior experience in school education and the skill ecosystem is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity and understanding of procurement processes, including the Government E-Market Place (GeM portal), is desired.
