**Job Overview:**

 

Akanksha is seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join our team as an Assistant Manager for Development and Donor Relations. This key role is crucial in driving Akanksha’s growth and impact, ensuring we secure the financial resources needed to sustain our operations and expand our reach. You will be responsible for delivering fundraising strategies, leading and coordinating Akanksha’s fundraising activities across multiple cities, and fostering meaningful relationships with current and potential donors.

 

**Responsibilities:**

 

**Corporate Giving, Foundations, and Agency Grants:**

 

* Develop and execute strategies to identify and secure corporate giving, foundation, and agency grants.

* Conduct thorough research to identify potential donors whose mission aligns with Akanksha’s work.

* Prepare compelling proposals and presentations to secure funding from various sources.

* Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing donors, ensuring consistent engagement and stewardship.

* Coordinate donor recognition, tax donation receipting, and regular reporting, working closely with the Finance team to ensure proper utilization of donor funds.

 

**Individual Giving and Fundraising Events:**

 

* Design, implement, and support innovative fundraising events and campaigns, including marathons, school fundraisers, and other impactful initiatives.

* Manage all aspects of fundraising events, including logistics, planning, execution, and donor engagement.

* Develop strategies to attract and cultivate relationships with individuals of diverse giving capacities.

 

**Budgeting, Allocation & Tracking:**

 

* Collaborate in budgeting exercises for CSR donor grants and track spending in coordination with the Finance team.

* Maintain accurate trackers and dashboards to monitor budget progress and achievement.

* Work closely with departments like Finance, Program, and Monitoring & Evaluation to gather data, track progress, and present findings in a meaningful and impactful manner.

 

**Administration:**

 

* Regularly monitor donor websites to identify and inform about relevant opportunities.

* Ensure that donor reports are aligned with requirements and contracts, meet high standards, and are submitted on time.

* Support all donor requirements, including audits and impact assessments.

 

**Fundraising Partners:**

 

*  Liaise with Akanksha’s existing partner fundraising groups and expand the network to other countries.

* Motivate and facilitate supporters to maximize their fundraising efforts through crowdfunding campaigns.

 

**Qualifications and Skills:**

 

* Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in finance, business studies, management, marketing, or public relations.

* Minimum 3-4 years of experience in fundraising, operations management, or relationship management for non-profit organizations.

* Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.

* Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and other visual data presentation tools.

 

**Preferred Knowledge and Competencies:**

 

* Deep understanding of fundraising operations and donor stewardship.

* Knowledge of program design, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting is a plus.

* Strong project management skills with proven experience in planning and implementing day-to-day operations.

* Highly motivated, self-driven, and detail-oriented.

* Creative, flexible, and a generator of innovative ideas.

* Ability to write compelling donor reports, updates, and details for newsletters.

* Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
