ENGAGEMENT TERMS: Fixed-term Contract assignment on a yearly renewal basis

MASTI KI PATHSHALA

A) Background: Masti ki Pathshala was initiated in 2016 with an aim to bring these street and homeless children out of the worst forms of child labour and into the fold of education. In August 2016, Tata Steel, in collaboration with Tinplate Company of India Limited, set up its first Residential Bridge Course called Masti Ki Pathshala (School of fun) to bring a new direction in the lives of street children. Tata Steel Foundation has identified education as the most potent tool to effect positive change in the lives of these disadvantaged children and thus conceptualized Masti Ki Pathshala .

B) Key Deliverables:

  • Community mobilization through liasoning with various stakeholder groups (including vulnerable children groups) to attain CLFZ in and around the periphery of Jamshedpur.
  • Survey out-of-school children and enrol them in Non-Residential Bridge Courses (NRBC) and
  • Residential Bridge Courses centers with the aim to provide Right to Education (RTE) in private and government schools.
  • Monitoring of proper functioning of NRBCs & RBCs & other new initiatives under Masti ki Pathshala programme.
  • Handle all kinds of emergency situations arising at the RBC centers (Runaway cases, Medical Emergency, Lost, Fire, Electric shock, Fall from height, etc) in coordination with parents, Reporting manager & team.
  • Prepare and manage MIS of the programme related data & its documentation w.r.t. all activities carried out and maintain record of the child’s progress.
  • Admitting children in age-appropriate class to attain Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) as per NEP guidelines.

Minimum Qualification: Graduate, Preferably B.Ed / BSW. Those with MSW / M.Ed shall be given additional weightage

Minimum No. of years of experience: 3 years & above

Technical Skill-sets:

– Knowledge of RTE & Elementary Education System (K-12 would be preferable)

– Project Planning, Management, Monitoring and Evaluation

– Digital ability is a must; Adept in computer literacy, dexterous with MS-Office

– Good language and communication skills; read-speak-write English & Hindi
