**Job Title:** Assistant Manager – Facility Management Services  

**Location:** Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India  

**Salary Range:** ₹35,700 – ₹64,214 per month  

 

 

**About IRRI (International Rice Research Institute):**  

IRRI is a nonprofit research and educational institute dedicated to reducing poverty and hunger through rice science. Established in 1960 with support from the Ford and Rockefeller Foundations, IRRI operates across 17 countries in Asia and Africa, employing over 1,000 staff. The IRRI South Asia Regional Centre (ISARC) in Varanasi focuses on enhancing agricultural productivity, capacity building, and delivering research services to improve rice production and farmer incomes.

 

 

**Qualifications:**  

– **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience; or Master’s degree in the same field with a minimum of 3 years of experience.  

– **Skills Required:**  

  – High technical competence in facilities management.  

  – Strong communication, procurement, and negotiation skills.  

  – Stakeholder and vendor management expertise.  

  – Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards is preferred.  

 

 

**Key Responsibilities:**  

1. Manage and maintain ISARC’s physical infrastructure, including buildings, equipment, labs, and utilities (water, electricity, HVAC).  

2. Develop plans for infrastructure development, renovations, and maintenance, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.  

3. Oversee safety inspections, certifications, and environmental sustainability practices.  

4. Liaise with internal teams, external vendors, and government agencies to ensure efficient facility operations and support research programs.  

5. Negotiate contracts, manage vendors, and monitor outsourced services for quality and timely delivery.  

6. Ensure adherence to IRRI’s policies, safety protocols, and compliance with legal requirements.
